Biostimulants are injectables that promote natural collagen production, allowing for gradual and lasting skin rejuvenation. Unlike traditional fillers, they do not immediately fill volumes, but act deep within to redensify and firm the skin over time.

At the Unica MD Aesthetic Clinic, we use two types of biostimulators recognized for their effectiveness and safety:

Sculptra®: Composed of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), it gradually stimulates collagen production, restoring firmness and elasticity to the skin.

Radiesse®: Contains calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA), which provides an immediate volumizing effect while stimulating long-term collagen production.

Is the treatment painful?

The vast majority of patients experience very little discomfort . Modern dermal fillers typically contain an anesthetic (lidocaine), and a numbing cream may be applied prior to treatment. At Unica MD, we make every effort to make the experience smooth, safe, and reassuring .

Are there any side effects or a recovery period?

The after-effects are generally mild: some redness, tenderness, or swelling may occur in the hours following treatment, as well as minor bruising in some cases. These effects resolve within a few days. Most patients return to their normal activities immediately after leaving the clinic . Our doctors always provide personalized post-treatment advice for optimal recovery.

Do fillers give a “puffy” or artificial effect?

No, not when used correctly. At Unica MD, our approach is based on subtlety and balance . Doses are precisely adjusted to respect the morphology of the face and preserve your natural expression . Can you correct or dissolve a filler if you change your mind?

Yes. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be fully or partially dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This is one of the great advantages of this type of product: it offers flexibility and reversibility when needed. Our team is trained to intervene quickly and safely if correction is desired.

Can everyone receive fillers?
